Goals

One of the best experiences of my life was teaching basic photography in 2004-2006 at The Bronx High School for the Visual Arts. This Arts-in-Education program administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts gave me the opportunity to meet, interact and guide these superbly talented teenagers in using their cameras to communicate their thoughts and ideas. I learned so much from these bright and highly motivated kids and Man, did we have fun! I realized then, my need to help teenagers who were interested in the arts as a career, become more aware of the financial opportunities that exist in this medium. It’s very important to dispel the idea of the “starving artist”, especially since art is a multi-billion dollar business.

I am currently structuring a not-for-profit foundation that will address entrepreneurial education for youth and minorities in business and the arts. Economics will play a major factor in our foundation, as our ultimate goal is to support these young artists in continuing to make solid decisions in life.

Another primary goal of this foundation is to foster better African American relationships, and fund medical research and care in the push for a cure for HIV/AIDS. On a global level, this disease has claimed millions of lives in communities throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa and I believe the artistic community must continue to play an integral role in battling this epidemic. We'll keep you informed of our progress.
