Fela, an accomplished musician, was greatly influenced by the music and lyrics of James Brown. Using his music as a force of change for Africa, he became the “People’s President”, a Pan-Africanist, giving his musical voice to the powerless-speaking out against global and local oppression, corruption and ignorance.
